blessed by the gods of rain

Aetherian are a melodic death metal band from Athens, Greece, formed in 2013 by Angelos Maniatakos and Panos Leakos. The band started as a studio project and shortly after their formation, recorded and released two singles, "Drops of Light" and "Scar of Despair" in 2014. A year later, they released their debut EP titled "Tales of our Times" which received a positive feedback among the genre-seeking audience. Few months later they signed a publishing contract for ''Tales of our Times'' with the Polish label "Goressimo Records". At that point Aetherian started performing several live shows around Greece.

In 2016 they recorded a new single alongside a video clip called "The Rain" which drew the attention and signified the beginning of their journey. ''The Rain'' made a huge impact in a very short time on social media and the underground scene, currently reaching 3.5 million views on YouTube. Not long after, the band was approached by Lifeforce Records and a contract was signed for the release of their upcoming album ''The Untamed Wilderness''. Their debut album was recorded and released during late 2017 and received an even larger feedback by webzines, magazines and blogs, being featured in Metal Hammer (Greece), Metalstorm Awards, Legacy Magazine, MetalSucks and many more.

In between 2017 and 2019 the band participated two times on the Greek tour ''This is Hell'' and have also been the opening act for Lamb of God, Septic Flesh, Nightrage and Unto Others. In 2020 they recorded a new single, called “Primordial Woods” featuring Sakis Tolis (Rotting Christ). During 2022 the band made their first headline tour outside of Greece, after completing their second full-length album "At Storm's Edge" at Devasoundz studios with Fotis Benardo (ex. Septic Flesh) as their producer.

"At Storm's Edge" after its release on July 2023 found itself popular among internet zines like Metal Injection, Metal Storm and No Clean Singing as well as printed magazines such as Decibel Magazine and Metal Hammer Greece and the Greek television show TV WAR. During 2023-2025 the band performed at festivals like Summer Breeze Festival, Metal Embrace Festival, Metal Solidarity and Golden Rules Festival, and as opening act for the 40 YEARS OF THE APOCALYPSE TOYR with Vader and Vomitory as well as multiple other shows as headline or support act.

On 2025 they released a single called “The Great Beyond” influenced by the passing of Panos’ father. On 2026 they completed the “Ethereal Abyss European Tour” as headliners and they are currently working on their third album which is due to be released on early 2027.
